Wheat is one of the world's most important crops,

and it is threatened by new strains of a disease called stem rust. Through the Borlaug Global Rust Initiative, wheat breeders and rust researchers are working together in a large, unique collaboration to develop new wheat varieties that can withstand these new strains.
